I think we'll definitely serve Virginia wine from the winery I work at, but NJ beer is a great idea! And we could keep it all at least US made and have US bourbon and vodkas. Plus Blue Mountain Brewery is great. And that's definitely within 100 miles!

Now I just have to convince the bride and groom of these fabulous ideas.

Okay I found a great list on another website:

1. Watch the numbers -- the fewer guests, the less amount consumed

2. Source locally -- particularly for food and drink

3. Source green -- from your wedding dress material, the mining of your gold and the chocolate in your cake to making a better choice to rent suits and table linens if you are only going to use them once.

4. Pick your venue -- try to be as close to your guests as possible and find out how green the venue itself is.

5. Greening transportation -- use shuttle buses or bikes and encourage carpooling for out of town guests.

6. Make it personal -- by asking friends to arrange flowers or have materials out for scrapbooking rather than ice sculptures and chocolate fountains.

7. The perfect eco-invites -- use recycled paper companies. I think there are some on Locallectual!

8. Gifts of Conscience -- register on eco-sites and register for only the essentials. There is also the increasingly popular gift donation registry for charity.

9. Offsetting the rest -- I don't know what that means. There are links to companies like Terrapass, Native Energy and MyClimate.

10. Communicate -- let your guests know in subtle ways how hard you worked to green your wedding.
