10 Steps to Becoming a Locavore 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
My aunt was trying to think of the word for local food eaters tonight at a family dinner and like 3 people chimed in, "LOCAVORE!"

I love that word. So I came home and googled and came across this article on pbs.org:

http://www.pbs.org/now/shows/344/locavore.html

I love these make-it-easy lists. My focus from this list is going to be preserving a local food for the winter. I've never done it before. I wonder what summer vegetables are good for that...help, anyone?

"The first step to becoming a locavore is to determine what local means to you."

Sweet.

Oh! I have a good story:

I was at the grocery store the other day and was presented with THREE choices for cherries: Conventional, Organic or Local. I chose Local AND they were the cheapest.
