Fantastic Seasonal Beer, Local Food

I just visited BMB for the first time on Friday and had the most amazing afternoon. I had read about its winter beer called the Hibernator, which is only made available on tap at the brewery and the local ski resort, and was compelled to try it. A friend of mine and I took a road trip out to BMB for the Hibernator and lunch and were also so happy to see a local bratwurst on the menu that had literally been cooked in the brewery's own beer. It doesn't get any more real than that.

BMB has some of the best beer in the Charlottesville area. Taylor Smack, who used to be brew-meister for South Street Brewery (my favorite brew pub in Charlottesville city limits) has genuine talent. I'm particularly fond of the wheat and porter offerings, but they have a large enough selection to satisfy any beer-lover's preferences. The food is good and if you're a vegetarian they have you well-covered. Located about 20 minutes west of the city, BMB is in a beautiful country setting at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. From the outside seating, you have a wonderful view of the mountains. The inside is warm and inviting.
