Canning is the New Cool? Pickling is the New Knitting? Home food preservation is catching on big-time! Classes are being offered all over the country; keep an eye out for one in your area such as this one put on by Oregon State University Extension: Master Food Preserver Training. This particular eight-week course covers all aspects of food preservation and food safety including canning, pickling, smoking, fermenting, freezing, dehydrating, cheesemaking and more.

Do you "put food by?" Did your parents? What is your favorite technique? Any great food preservation classes being offered in your area?
