My last blog was on Labor Day grilling, this one is on back to school time. Buzzkill, huh? Well if you're planeteer (yes, I'm a product of the Captain Planet generation), then there are plenty of eco-friendly Locallectual school supplies out there. One of my favorite companies making up green school and office supplies is TerraCycle (they also make awesome home and garden products...I'm a fan of their orchid food). From what I can tell, all their products aren't domestically made (boooooo), but their 3 ring binders are not only almost 100% recycled (the metal ringy part is 90%, the rest of the binder is 100% post consumer) but ALSO American made!

And, if you are feeling guilty about the waste that comes from all those juice pouches your kids (or you) are consuming, fear not! Terracycle is accepting CapriSun and Honest Kid juice pouches, but you must sign up to donate them. And you get 2 cents back per pouch! Holla! Hurry, because they only take a limited number of donaters!
