Charlottesville, Virginia's Cappellino's Crazy Cakes is the brainchild of brother-and-sister team Frank and Dotty Cappellino. Featuring over 20 flavors of cupcakes that are as delicious as they are beautiful, Cappellino's is quickly becoming known as Charlottesville's premiere cupcake bakery. Just off Charlottesville's pedestrian-friendly Historic Downtown Mall, Cappelino's Crazy Cakes is the place to go for cupcakes (or cookies!), whether it be for an impromptu treat or a large order for that special occasion. Everything at Cappellino's is made from scratch, and the beautiful fondant decorations are made by hand. Madagascar Vanilla is the vanilla of choice, and real butter is always used.

Cappellino's opened its doors on June 10th, 2008, and has been a hot spot ever since!

Friday: Noon to 8 PM

Fall/Winter Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm

Crazy Cakes also bakes a daily selection of cookies such as Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip w/walnuts,Snicker Doodle, Oatmeal Cranberry Raisin, or Fruit & Nut.The cookies and cupcakes change on a weekly basis, this keeps things exciting.

Ask us about delivery!  A dozen is the minimum and a delivery charge will  be added.

Anyone who works on the downtown mall and has a special birthday cupcake or cupcakes to be delivered to that special co-worker, well, it will be FREE. A personal song will be sung by Dotty..don't worry, I really can't sing, but I can sell a song.  No delivery charge for the downtown mall businesses.

History:

The recipes at Cappellino's have been, for the most part, handed down from Dotty and Frank's father, James Vincent Cappellino, who was an accomplished chef and chocolatier in Pittsburgh. Dotty has a successful history as a baker, specializing in poundcakes that sold at Charlottesville retailers such as The Greenwood Store and Foods of All Nations. Frank had a thriving specialty cake business in Florida. Dotty convinced Frank to relocate to Charlottesville and open this joint venture, which has been satisfying the sweet tooth of Charlottesvillians ever since!
